How much do these cost? What is a good height to stay at, right above the tree tops/power lines? Is there a back up safety parachute in case something fails? I have been interested in paragliding for a long time. Can you just fly them in the suburbs?

It seems that you have a lot of questions and good ones. You must have been thinking a long time before. It's time to act. Paragliding is not as easy it seems and could be dangerous, that's why long time ago I found a paragliding school for a week lesson. That was the right time to learn. Then, try to find meetings, shcools, clubs, hot flying spot and good sunglasses ;) I hope that you'll find pleasure in this activity. Regards

I'm learning to fly right now, but have freaked out watching all the crash videos on youtube. Videos like this remind me why I'm doing it at all. Thanks

That's why you take a right decision to learn first... it's not as easy as it seems and may be really dangerous, like on a motorbike always wear your helmet, and never fly alone first. Fly with friends or schools and never do stupid things...

Write ever fly on a book. There are different way of flying, find the easyest first. There is not "good" flying man, there is "old" one ;)

Congratulation, learning will improve your skills and then it's a direct way to pleasure !

@laurentParis i really liked ur video and im intersting in paragliting for a long time but i have 2 questions! can u fly as much u want or after 30' or something u have to land it? and the second one is there a possibility for the ropes to be cutted when u fly?(thats my biggest fear!) thnks

@Astrogumball I know how it feels.. But after learning the basics and beginning to understand why & how those accidents happens you build trust to the sport, to your wing and to your piloting skills. Knowing your limits and having a good instuctor reduce the risks dramatically.
