Actually there haven't been many sunspots recently, and we are in a mini ice age! :O lol.

It is true though, I have looked at the sun (with the correct equipment obviously) and there isn't much activity, just a few prominences.

According to William Jevons, sunspots cause economic problems. Maybe that's the reason we're in a recession. :)
