  • @H0wlinPelleAlmqvist .

Get over yourself - no fucking way is the Hives "cover" better - it doesn't have the venom of this - the original.

  • I've heard it. It's OK, but it's nowhere near as white hot as the original.

  • Superb!

  • errm.Candy Snatchers put up a good fight.

  • @shaunsk Saints/ Radio Birdman 1977, you lucky bastard. (as we say in Australia)

  • @ex1le444 the damned came very close as did the clash and even the jam( all mod cons setting sons- soundaffects)

  • @Tarpouff Yeah good albums but Motorhead did better albums than Ace of Spades even later, Iron Fist & Orgazmatron spring to mind. Well maybe not better than Ace 'coz that's a classicbut better than the first album. Now nothing is better than the Saints first album, nothing, it's one of the most undervalued masterpieces in Rock'n'Roll.

Motörhead : Motörhead, Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades

  • Saw them in '77 at the Nashville supported by Radio Birdman, both bands up close were simply phenomenal, the Saints just edging it.Saw them I think the same year at the Roundhouse supporting Gen X,brilliant again, playing through the sheets of gob and whole plates of food that were thrown at them, the epitome of a rock n roll and punk band.Eternally yours is excellant. One of the best live bands I ever saw.

  • you say I gotta respect the system.......

  • I've had "Eternally Yours" for decades now and it's still my favorite Saints album (which is saying something considering how great they are) and this is better than the Hives (or any version) for ....one, because it came first --the Hives would be lost without this as a template ....and two, the bassline in this if superior. I love the cascades, and the bass is more defined on this. 'Nuff said.
