The Munsters theme song

The intro may have been done that way because the Munsters loving caring household together theme and inviting people into their house would be established. Since they are a bizarre, but "hidden" family, numerous outside activities with others would not have worked.

I also suspect those involved in the production may have had more of a background in theater than TV production, and that is how it would have been handled.

this might be about the 20th time i have looked at this video. it's still amusing. intros to the munsters tv show were unusual because it seems that they pointed the movie camera at one location while each castmember came into that location as if it were a continuous scene from an episode. other tv intros ( including the munsters today ) generally show a bunch of separate scenes at different locations.
