The Last Time I Seen Canberra

This is a little Film of the last time I seen Canberra. The Film was put together with video clips from when I was cruising aboard Oriana in August 1997 as Oriana & Canberra sailed side by side back to Southampton.
I think it was Canberra's third from final cruise.

i remember hearing her on hf 8.300mhz making contact with another p&o ship,think it was oriana,massive signals,one was in the med the other was near italy,great stuff...sadly there bother now cars and washing machines now.

i spent 3-4 holidays on the Canberra, the last one being the penultimate cruise she did in Aug 1997. I was 12. From what the video info says I was on the voyage after this one shown!

I remember hanging out in Alice Springs like it was yesterday! I'll never forget that cruise as the day we got back to Southampton was the day Princess Diana passed away. It'll always stick with me

Nice video footage. I've had the pleasure of being on both of those P&O ships, the other one is Oriana of course. I went on 3 Canberra cruises with my mum, dad sister and best friend. I was 13, 14 and 15 years of age and it was in the early  1990's. Fond memories of hanging around with others my age in Alice Springs bar at the back of the ship. Canberra what a legend she was!

my first job after leaving school in 76 was a bell boy on the canberra and was on the world cruise, at sixteen years old .i have happy memorys of those days

I spent a week on her going from Southampton and on to cruise the med at the age of 13 with my mum, and even at that age i could tell what a beautiful ship she was, shame shes gone !!!

She was a British Icon - gone forever now. Was on Oriana's maiden, and everyone said "it's not like Canberra" says it all really.

Always thought it was a tragedy that this beautiful and graceful ship was scrapped. She should've been used somehow,maybe in OZ. I wonder if there will ever be a Canberra 2 ?

I just found out this ship was scrapped 12 years ago OMG. what kind of moronic thinking led to destroying this one of a kind maritime icon??? Responsible parties BURN IN FUKIN HELL!!!
