The Niddl Story, part 1

Niddl is an Austrian singer who -- more or less by chance -- discovered her talents, when she won a karaoke contest in 1999. A series of partly obscure and mostly unsuccessful demos and singles followed, before the year 2000 saw her take part in the first season of the German casting show „Popstars", in which she was the only Austrian girl among the last 15 participants. The show created the band „No Angels", which coincidently sounds a bit ironic, for Niddl's artistic name so far had been „Angel".

In 2002 she once again took on the casting roller coaster, when applying for the Austrian show „Starmania", almost being kicked out, because the jury didn't share her sense of humor. However, her powerful interpretation of „Piece of my heart" made them quickly change their minds. Round by round she then made her way through the show, finally coming in fourth place, when her dearest wish, you've guessed it, was to be in the top three.
