This is me playing my version of River Flows In You by Yiruma. This is the version that I teach in my tutorials by the way. Near the end, you may hear a slight pause. That's because at that moment someone came in the room and distracted me.

  • Hey guys. Just to let you know I now have a Facebook Page purely dedicated to my own original material. Please check it out, like it, and if you have the time tell me what you think of my previews'. :)

  • this rlly helped me C: do you teach it yourself? imeen play by ear? or do you have notes? good job :)

  • @MadMarcii1: Glad it did! :). Yeah, I have taught myself from the beginning. I play pretty much everything by ear; it's very rare that I will use sheet music.

  • Hello, well played!

Not to point fingers at you or anything. But the 3rd D you are hitting with your right hand should be an E, and it's and E everytime you play that piece.

Just so, now you can play it correctly :)

With your talent, you should get a real piano! :)

  • @FingerSk8er1996: Thanks :). To be honest, I am a person who doesn't see there to be a right way and wrong way of playing a song, because music is about interpretation, not copying. True, the note which you highlighted was not purposely changed - but it's one note; if it was on a CD, you wouldn't have noticed.

Haha! I'd love a Grand, and have my eye on one if I get the opportunity to get it. Have to say though, in the home environment, my Yamaha Electric will upstage many Uprights.

  • @pianodrew Exactly! :D

It's how you wanna tell the story from the song, you dont have to tell it like everybody else.

    Just keep your excellent work!

And about the notice of the note. I didn't look at the video when i noticed ;)

  • @FingerSk8er1996: You have a good understanding of music, and a good ear. I will say however that many of the covers of this song I have looked at on YouTube are played with a D instead of an E. It's just one of those songs where there is no right or wrong way of playing it, because so many have tried it, and so many have scored it, somewhere down the road of such a popular song some notes will probably change accidentally.
