On July 20, 2009, I did a 2 hr. live remix for the Northwest Film Forum's Moon Landing Anniversary Party, which I'm condensed here in both time and space. The remix included footage from the original live broadcast, some 60s experimental films about the moon, old abortive launch footage, lots of Sun Ra, Yves Klein doing anthropometries, the space-ship scene from 8 1/2, sci-fi dance numbers from This is Tom Jones, etc. In some ways it was an "anti-anniversary" because the reason I chose to do such a long performance was primarily to explore the mystic time or empty time of the moon launch, which the control time, history time, technology time, tv time couldn't capture but sometimes hinted at (see Gene Youngblood on the moon launch, or my book Ether, which provides some of the conceptual underpinnings for the performance: http://www.joemilutis.com/etherpage.htm) Other separate clips of the performance will also be posted.
