How to create Glitch-type effects for use with your drum patterns. I say it is advanced only because of the speed at which I have to cover the material. Included: RV7000 Gating, Automation, Matrix offsetting, Filtering by gate, and Distortion.

  • why using subtractor through redrum ?

    what good of it ?

  • To use the Subtractor's LFO and ENV to :modify: the sound, and shape of Redrum's output or that of an inline filter.

Subtractor uses no sound output, just CV output.

  • hey how did you change the timing on the drum track? i couldnt see what you right clicked, and it didnt seem like there was a feature in my reason 4? Awesome stuff though.

  • In reason4 you use the F8 key. The other thing I did to change the timing was switch to a different Rex loop AFTER sending the notes to the track.

  • That was a great tutorial, and everything worked fine for me, up to the Filter working correctly. it doesn't seem like my filter introduces much regularity back into the beat..or lack thereof.

  • Turn the FREQ down a bit, and turn the ENV AMT up some. Use the velocity knob if you want to, but remember it will ADD the (Velocity * sensitivity) to your ENV amount.

If you're using a fast rex track, the gates might be coming too fast for it to do any real filtering. If so, try using a matrix instead of the REX as your gate input.

  • You're deaf and you learned to talk so that you could narrate your videos - that's a wonderful trick. Now lets see you actually put together something that doesn't make me want to shove my fingers in my ears. I suppose this video was meant to be humorous, but how this video got over 36,000 views is beyond me -__-

  • dousent sound glitch @ all , sounds like some random crap

  • "There's a lot more to glitch than just messing up a drum pattern."

  • old news. ever heard of autechre? aphex twin? yaaaawwwnnnn.

  • This is the most creative set of skill taught thanx for the inspiration

  • Great tips. Super useful, well displayed, good speed, and you showed a variety of things we can do using the same technique. Maybe, you can hook up all the machines manually so that we can see how to do so. It's just a personal preference, but I think that learning how to manually connect all the devices gives a more intimate knowledge about what is going on 'behind the scenes'. And it wouldn't actually add more complications to the video.

  • Hell Yeahh, thnx for the humungus TIPS mate!!!

Hope te see an HEAR more ;-)

    Latersszz

  • you make it look so easy :)

  • just realised what your name is, how could I miss it. Cool videos man, very helpful
