  • What quality setting do you recommend for shooting video? I will likely be doing some color correction in post. Thanks!

  • I would always say stick to the highest quality possible. As they say, "garbage in, garbage out". When the mode dial is set to the movie mode, the options are a little different, and the default should be the best quality, but I would double check to make sure. The function would still be located in the Quick Menu or in the Main Menu. I hope that helps.

  • Thanks for showing your good teaching guides. How do you like the G1? I am looking to go from Sony Super Zooms(12 zoom h5) to a dslr or maybe the g1. I want to shoot mainly landscape and nature. I will use a tripod 95% of the time. Being handicapped, live view is very important for me. Would the g1 be a good selection? I would also shoot mainly in good light. What would be a good lens or is a lens made around 70-300mm work on this camera? Will a wired or wireless remote work on the g1?

  • Hi, Thanks for the comment. I would highly recommend the G1. I think it's a great camera. It does have a wired remote available for about $80 and many lens option, you may want to look at the H-VS014140 - a 28-280 equivalent. Unfortunately it's as much as the camera if not more. Lastly, I don't have much experience using a DSLR's live view for a long time between shots, but the manuals don't recommend it because it heats the CCD and causes more image noise, therefore, the G1 may be better.
