that's obviously jamie west-oram on guitar in this song-but you knew that-right?

@carriersignal well stated friend, you can clearly see how much he injected his signature keyboards and atmosphere into The Fixx cheers :)
In fact I think The Fixx should cover this - just to see what they come up with !!

@carriersignal I was thinking that also -- how close it was to an actual Fixx song. Of course, if it was there would have been drums and bass, and the guitar would be more memorable -- but the spacy washes, the "openness", clarity and interesting vocal layers (the things that defined his Fixx production) are all here.
Hine needed a competent, open-minded band to express this concept fully.
Fixx needed someone to shape their sound give them direction.
and Fate did the math.

Someone asked if RH used Fairlight on these songs - no, it was the PPG Wavemaker II - something that I craved immensely! :)

No, the black & white image is Rupert Greenall from The Fixx.
Rupert Hine produced some of The Fixx albums in the 80s.
Brilliant band & brilliant producer.
As a person who appreciates melodic music in general, the music in this song is very hypnotic, and has an almost drug like effect when I listen to it. It is pretty obvious no doubt that Hine who produced the Fixx's early albums had substantial influence on their sound. This song, substituting Cy's voice of course, could rather easily pass for something off of Reach the Beach or Shuttered Room. I believe this is what genius can do when left uninhibited by the media and clueless record execs.

I remember the very first time I heard this song, it has stuck with me for 30 years!
I had to track it down a year or two ago not really knowing the name though, I LOVE YOUTUBE for this very reason, you can find damn near any song you can think of.
