UPDATE 2: "Composite" was mentioned by Dr. Peter Polverini, the dean of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, in the September issue of the Journal of the Michigan Dental Association (p.37):
"Second-year dental students Kevin Kuo and Misha Garibov created quite a buzz with a four-minute music video, "Composite," that parodies the popular Taio Cruz video "Dynamite." The video provides a glimpse of how technology is being used in the clinics with patient education animation displayed on the iPad."

UPDATE 1: Thank you everyone for all the kind words! We are so happy that you guys enjoyed watching the video as much as we had fun making it :)

Check out the story about "Composite" on the University of Michigan School of Dentistry site:

_________________________________

"Dynamite" is about people feeling so good at the club that they feel like BURSTING out in dance, like an EXPLODING piece of DYNAMITE.

Similarly, "Composite" is about dentists trying to CURE their patients' pain just like when they light-CURE the dental material COMPOSITE when filling cavities.

Remember to check out the original song and music video! It will also help you enjoy this parody even more:

Big thanks to Peter Lee Johnson for inspiring me to pick up the violin after several years of not playing to do this cover of his violin cover of "Dynamite". I personally think he has the best violin covers of popular music out there. His cover can be found here:

Also, you can find the nice instructional video about composite materials by szebrowsk here:

This music video was recorded and edited with Garageband and iMovie '09.

Finally, I want to give a special thanks to everyone who helped make this video! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!

  • this is so great :)

  • Love that you have "Inside the Dental Practice 1860-1940" museum exhibit as background! Maybe we should talk about another music video on how you imagine a patient might dream about their dental treatment in 1860! The dancers were great!
