  • @chucklesmcgee137 lol i wouldnt call jeff lewis reality based but i feel ya

  • Honestly, I thought they had the same lyrical style/vocal style, from the first song I heard by him. They both have songs that seem very unique that differentiates themselves, but their basic songs and jams sound the same.

I love the poetry in anti-folk. I heard about jeffrey lewis through Regina. just take it the songs the way they are without comparisons and listen to what they wrote - it's real. I'm sure both kimya and jeffrey would appreciate that gesture.

  • "Why am I not free yet, of all this doubting. My mind keeps shouting and it never gets a sore throat." GENIUS!!!! :D

  • I can almost feel a subliminal message in here! Awesome video, thanks =D

  • @acorn2taco

Kimya's connections to him are easy enough to find on the internet, but to get started in 2001 Adam Green and Kimya Dawson took 8 songs from the first two cassettes by Jeffrey and gave it to Rough Trade Records' Geoff Travis. It became his first CD "The Last Time I Did Acid I Went Insane and other favorites." Look up antifolkonline or Jeffrey's website for more details. I also read recently that they cut an album together scheduled for release this spring!

  • check his website, it says in the discography.

  • I see your point even without listeing to that song. Point though I think they're pretty well matched musically not counting so much her guitar playing. Lyrically they're about the same level. They kinda go around the same thing that a song doesn't have to rhyme perfectly to be a good song. Not only that but they both also seem to have a dab of humour in a lot of their songs no matter how sad it may be.

  • true, but listen to the last time i did acid i went insane.

  • true, but she can be just as good when it comes to her finger picking even if it may not sound as elaborate. Like in her song Anthrax.

  • No WAY! I never knew that. Do you know of any songs in which they collaborated in?? I would love to hear some. Thankyou for mentioning that. :)
