Apparently, it's illegal to draw with sidewalk chalk in NYC. A fellow protestor told me that in Brooklyn, when police find kids drawing on the sidewalk with chalk, they give their parents tickets. Apparently, this stuff that will wash off with water is "vandalism". Although he's technically breaking the law, it's a pretty stupid law IMO. Ironically, when this man got arrested, he was writing the word "LOVE".

@Jaxx08 children draw with chalk all the time on city streets, as do artists, i grew up in nyc, they were only using this as a technicality to harass the demonstrators. it's BS plain and simple.

Vandalizing is an illegal act, using chalk may not be permanent but is still an act of vandalism, so these men should be arrested for vandalizing. When you're in a crowd that is being watched all over the U.S. by citizens like you of course the cops will be keeping an extra eye out for those who are smart enough to pull one string of illegal activities. Use your head protesters, for stupidity can not be hidden within a crowd of others while your surrounded by blood hungry sharks.
