The Gracie obviously had not had the courage to wear a gi. Under the rules of judo the Gracie hadn´t had any chance. On the street Yoshida had thrown the whole Gracie family KO within seconds as there is no soft floor in real fights. And although the BJJ rules favored the Gracie he didn´t even win under his rules against a world class judoka. BJJ is a funny sport for television and MMA. Judo is effective in self-defense. But the marketing of BJJ is REALLY great!!!!

@Glock70 Royce beat yoshida when he was on PEDS. Royce left the UFC because the fights were becoming too competitive, Keith Hackney who isn't even a grappler pounded gracie for 5 mins before he got caught in an armbar. Gracie knew it was just a matter of time before he came across someone better.

@ScottjwKelly on that note the highest level being Yoshida at the time and royce at this time now many claim royce would of got out of sode guruma if that was the case he wouldn't of went to sleep he went limp

I have been choked out a few times and KO as well so I do have some input there and I am sure you would agree you don't know you have been choked out and I have got up just as quick as royce after being choked out and I didn't even know I was out until I was told so

@MKReQuIeM good point I have seen the same thing in Naga Judoka's are starting to exploit the holes in the BJJ game the way wrestlers have take away the ground throw> pin> stand up no more then that.

@ScottjwKelly Yes I know Gracie tested positive for PED it happens to alot of competitors I boxed and

kick boxed for over 13yrs and seen quite a bit of PED in boxing and some what in Kickboxing not as much , and yes the highest level of any sport or MA can be defeated but once again gracie did not beat Yoshida in their first match IMO and then changed the rules and still could not finnish him in the second match from the turtle at that.

@keliangarcia Uwagi means Jacket you dope and that is what gracie took off in an attempt to limit Yoshida's advantage of GI fighting THE JACKET >he kept his Zubons on would like a 101 in Judo GI parts in Japanese and I never claimed to be a shodan I am a nikyu an have been in Judo for 6 yrs
