George Lucas' eyes were just shining with the wonder of a 'star' struck boy! He really loved Star Trek, and if I'm not mistaken, this was actually the first (?) time he and Shatner were in the same room together (correct me if I'm wrong) but its obvious that he has a great deal of affection and admiration for William Shatner whose ego is larger than life and we wouldn't have him any other way- "You can call me Mr. Shatner" LOL!!! That is so TOTALLY SHATNER!
Not alot of people are aware of this, George is a massive fan of Star Trek and he considers himself a Trekkie. He credits Star Trek (alongside Flash Gordon and Metroplios) as inspiration of making Star Wars. (If memory serves me rightly) he went on the set of a few Star Trek films and was good friends with Gene Roddenberry.
@shurednichso Yeah, in fact he said when he was writing the first rendition to the Star Wars script (now known as episode 4) he would stop when Star Trek came on TV.
These stormtroopers were not clones (the round ones) the earlier ones were (FYI in the "expanded universe") that's why I want one of those suits since I too am too short to be a stormtrooper! ; Q
I love how bill in a way makes fun of george, but in a way, that every movie fan can understand, really means to say that he is impressed, and appreciates his work.. its a fun thing, and I love how they both do it, especially george's reaction
