Can you use steel wool to rub down between coats instead? I plan on using the same technique on some internal solid redwood pine doors which are bare unfinished wood. Thanks
@timboid2006 Certainly. We recommend Liberon 0000 steel wool or any comparable fine grade steel wool. Take care to brush off any wool particles between rub downs to avoid any flecks of wool becoming trapped in the coats of oil.
URGENT question! I just oiled my new worktops after sanding them, but only sanded very lightly. I should have sanded more - they'd been standing for months. They're iKEA solid oak blockboard. CAN I now sand again, properly, and start the oiling process again? Thank you.

Yes, this should be no problem. We would also recommend a light sanding between each coat of oil.

Excellent video! Shows thats it's worth the time and patience. What oil was used?

We recommend a high quality danish oil or finishing oil. Something containing a high percentage of tung oil to give a rich and protecting finish.
