If it's good enough for Paul McCartney of the Beatles,it's good enough for most. In our series on successful German musical instrument companies,we look at world-renowned Höfner guitars. McCartney called his instrument My little Hofner Baby . The Höfner Bass was first produced in 1956. After McCartney discovered it in a Hamburg music shop in 1961,it got the nickname the Beatles Bass .

  • @afzoomie67 right

  • yo dawg, I heard you like watching youtube videos, so we put a youtube video in your youtube video so you can watch youtube while you watch youtube.

  • Paul definitely used a Hofner in Come Together, in fact i'm pretty sure he had moved back to the Hofner to record Let It Be and Abbey Road

  • You're saying it like "Hoof-ner". It's Hofner. Not Hoofner.

  • @BeanTheCoffee Nope, Chuck Testa... that's the chinese version, I've never tried it, but it's supposedly ok. McCartney uses that $3500 german piece of beauty.

  • @toisver The song is "Michelle"

  • I have a Hofner Icon Beatle bass, along with a Fender P-Bass, and I love playing it. It has a deep, pure, organic sound, and I play it straight into a bass amp without pedals. I also love its light weight and easy playability. The only thing I have against it is that the strings are closer together than me P-Bass, which makes playing fingerstyle harder, so I use a pick. All in all a great bass. Maybe someday I'll have the money to get me a 500/1!
