second or third run to start the day (still feeling out the course at this point), driftindy.com vrs. outbrakemotorsports.com drift event... i was running on driftindy's side, i'm 95% sure this is the run i blew out my master cylinder (i brake hard leaving the sweeper, and it doesn't respond right, leading to the four off into the dirt on the inside of the track, but recover like a champ), i finished out that hour losing brake pressure till they failed completely and i had to retire from the event before even entering the second practice heat...thats right no brakes half way thru the run!!!
the car is an 1985 mk1 mr2 (aw11) its a stock 4age, with illegal garages clutch and toda lightweight flywheel...stock springs with tokico illumena's, ST sways, two'r'us poly bushings through out...front tires are 225/50r14 toyo RA1's rear are no name all weather crap...uh yeah open diff. 5 spd.
This is how an aw11 drifts on the track, with an open differential and 112hp this is the very best you will get out of one of these cars, with a supercharged aw11 and an LSD installed in the transaxle you might have a better shot but probably not to much more. maybe a mk1.5 w/ a 3sgte could beat this, but i have my doubts about the owners of a mk1.5 ever choosing to drift it.
i challenge anyone in the entire world to do better, and this wasn't even a good event for me, do it on the track, no rain, no snow, on warm dry tarmac, at a real judged drift event, and post video.
haters go ahead and start hating now, but proof is in the video, upload or shut up.
you suck balls!

illumena's are okay, but i would spend more for the koni yellows next time around.

@blatz66 why wuld you say spend more ?????spend more on a set of real coilovers like tien or any that re a real set . comparing yellows to illumenas is dumb both cheap crap trying to be a real set of coilovers so he did right in spending less on shit

@crettybocker
well having experience with koni yellows and illumena's the koni's offer a wider range of stiff and loose. and to my knowledge there aren't to many coilover kits for the aw11, you have to modify miata coils. either way this video is 4 years old and i now drift an RX7 on a custom set of Ksports.
