Emily's Mom Trailer

Emily Osment is stressed. Her older brother, Scott, has just gone off to college and has left her alone with their mother. Emily doesn't hate her mother, it's just that she's just too pretty and good at everything. Except in the love department. Emily has been there for her mother, through the downs of her love life.

Heather (Emily's Mom): *storms in crying*
Emily: Mom! What happened?
Heather: He's married! Married and has four kids! *sobs harder and sits on the couch*
Emily: *sighs* I'll get the ice cream. *walks to the fridge*
Heather: Don't forget the chocolate sauce! *grabs a pillow and hugs it to her chest*
Emily: *grabs the bottle of chocolate sauce, gets the ice cream and a spoon* *goes over to the couch and sits next to her mother*
Heather: Thanks sweetie. *opens the ice cream and drowns it in chocolate sauce*
Emily: No problem. *rubs her mom's shoulder*
Heather: *takes a spoonful of the ice cream and eats it* *with her mouth full* I can't believe he was such a jerk! I thought he was different from all the rest! *sobs*
Emily: *thinking* That's what she says about all of them. *out loud* I know. I'm here for you.
Heather: *puts her head on Emily's shoulder and cries harder*
Emily: *thinking* Scott, why'd you have to go? Please help me.

Meanwhile, all of the guys in her grade are in love with Emily's mom. Even Joe, Emily's best friend, whom she has the biggest crush on. Too bad he doesn't know that.

Joe: *sits at the kitchen counter* I know! He didn't even notice the toilet paper stuck to his shoe! *laughs*
Emily: *laughs* Mr. Bren can be so dumb sometimes! Everyone was laughing and he was so confused.
Joe: Yeah. *smiles at her*
Emily: *butterflies enter her stomach* I-
Heather: *comes in* Hey guys! What are you up to? *smiles at them*
Joe: *stares at her* We were uh, just doing stuff. *laughs nervously* You know, um, heh fun stuff. *coughs* Is it hot in here? *wipes his sweat*
Emily: No, it's not.
Joe: It, um, just might be you, Ms. Osment.
Heather: *smiles* Thank you Joe! It's always nice to know that I've still got it!
*walks away*
Joe: *smiles* Yes you do.
Emily: *frowns* So, wanna do our homework?
Joe: *staring off after Ms. Osment* Sure.

Will Emily be able to handle her mother by herself?

Emily: Scott! Please visit! I need you.
Scott: Em, I'm sorry. I have a lot of new commitments here and I have these huge homework assignments. I won't be able to make it back anytime soon.
Emily: So? You can do them here! I just need you to come home! I can't deal with mom anymore.
Scott: *sighs* Just hang in there okay? Before you know it, I'll be home and able to help you.
Emily: Whatever.
Scott: I gotta go. I'm sorry, Em. I love you.
Emily: Yeah. I bet you do. *slams the phone shut and throws it at the wall* *bursts into tears*

Or will will she lose it?

Emily: I HATE YOU! YOU RUIN EVERYTHING!
Heather: Sweetie, calm down.
Emily: I WON'T CALM DOWN! YOU JUST HAD TO COME IN YOUR SKIMPY DRESS AND RUIN MY LIFE!
Heather: I was just trying to-*gets cut off*
Emily: I was trying to dance with him. Then you come in and all he can see is YOU!
Heather: I'm sorry. *a tear falls down her cheek*
Emily: JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FIND LOVE DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO RUIN MY CHANCES AT IT! *runs into her room and slams the door*

Will her friends' support be enough?

Demi: Hey Emily!
Emily: Hey Demi! What's up?
Demi: *puts her tray down on the lunch table and sits* Nothing much. I just came from Latin class. Blegh.
Emily: *laughs*
Miley: *walks over* Hey! *sits at the table*
Demi: Hey Miles! Wasn't Latin the most boring thing in the world today?
Miley: Agreed! The whole stupid lecture was in Latin! What's up with that?
Emily: *laughs* Well, it is Latin class.
Demi: But does Latin have to be boring? I think not!
Emily: *smiles* You guys are too much.
D and M: But that's why you love us! *laugh*
Mandy: *walks over with Sel* See Selena? You did choose the right path! You're living it up with me instead of being with these losers! *giggles*
Emily: *stands up* Why I oughta...
Demi: *holds her back* No, Em. You'll get her clown make up all over you fist.
Miley: *holding Emily back too* Yeah. Wouldn't want to make Princess here put on more!
Selena: *gulps* Just because you don't have it, doesn't mean you can yell at someone else for flaunting it!
Emily: What the heck happened to you? You used to be so nice!
Selena: Well, people change.
Miley: *mutters* More like things.
Selena: I heard that!
Mandy: Let's so Sel. We have no time for them. *they walk away, arms linked*

Will Joe ever realize Emily's feelings for him?

Emily: Why are you so nice?
Joe: I was born that way. Gotta problem?
Emily: *laughs* Nope. You're the nicest guy I have ever met. *smiles at him*
Joe: Thanks. You're the nicest girl I've ever met. *smiles back at her*
Emily: *stares into his eyes*
