In 2003, I unearthed a collection of 1,500 glass plate negative photographs (daguerreotype) of tall ships built on the west coast, hidden away in a garage in Oregon for over 100 years. NONE of these photos have appeared in books and are being shown to the public for the first time. Based on this finding and the related tall ship history, the cities of Coos Bay and North Bend have resurrected their highly laudable tall ship history. This video produced by the Oregon Coast Show details some of the recently unearthed history of Tall Ships built on Oregons Coos Bay in the 1800s. Due to the historic nature of North Bend and Coos Bay, tall ships often call at Oregons Largest Harbor. Steve Priske - Tall Ships of San Francisco
