Wilshire Grand Project, Los Angeles (New skyscrapers, to start 2012)

Wilshire Grand Tower I is an approved supertall for Los Angeles. Proposed to break ground in 2012, the Wilshire Grand Tower complex will consist of two towers. The tallest and central tower is planned to be 1,250 feet (380 m) while the other will reach a height of 750 feet (230 m). The development of the complex is estimated to cost $1 billion. Wilshire Grand Tower will be the tallest building in Los Angeles, California, and the entire West Coast of North America.

Wilshire Grand will surpass the U.S. Bank Tower by nearly 250 feet (76 m). The towers are part of the new planned Light and Sign district that will extend along the Figueroa Corridor down to L.A. Live. The towers will be illuminated by digital art and advertisements on the first 10 floors, while the upper floors will feature solely digital art. The 40-storey tower will contain 100 residences and a 700 room hotel.

These towers are scheduled to open in 2015 and will dramatically alter the Los Angeles skyline. The present Wilshire Grand Hotel, which currently occupies the site, will be demolished in the winter of 2011.

With this tower going up and Metro expanding the mass transit system, I'm definitely excited about the downtown streetcars, Los Angeles is starting to act like a world class city =] the city already has the traffic, high energy, fast-pace attitude, trendiness and huge population.. I LOVE LA!

@Grizbox no bro your wrong the us bank is gonna be taller than one of the towers.but not the other one it's gonna be way past the us bank tower it's supposed to be second tallest skyscraper in america or maybe even first cause the don't know the actual size of it when it's done getting built,but it's gonna be heck of huge just watch...

I to would like to see the wilshire grand compared to the us bank tower. if you stop it at 2:47, it looks like the us bank tower looks taller, but if you stop at :50, the wilshire is taller.

i want to see an exact height comparison to Wilshire Grand towers and the US Bank tower, like a full model of downtown LA with the new buildings

@ninavonitanatalie22 i know i do to but their eventually going to be building alot more skyscrapers that are going to be taller than the us bank tower.. but for some reason these towers their building doesn't seem like if their going to be bigger than the us bank tower maybe they'll be the same size as the us bank or it might still be a little bigger.. that's just what i think they don't seem bigger than the us bank tower though
