@YusufSMahmood The Federation wouldn't fight alone against the Empire, the Klingon would fight alone side them. The war between the Federation, Klingon and the Empire dwarf that of the Dominion wars.

It would be a good mach up. The Imperial Fleet Hyperdrive is faster than Warp significantly, their weapons are stronger yet shorter range and cannot fire at FTL. Federation can fire at high warp, has versatile weapons, longer fire range, and transporters could literally beam all non shielded TIE fighters into oblivion before they reached firing range and beam one ship into the cargo hold to study the tech. Federation at one time gets transphasic torpedos which go right through shields.

@Mitchz95 I guess, if you're that optimistic xD. I suppose it COULD work, but it is less likely that that the Federation would defeat the imperials.

@YusufSMahmood Not at first, but like they did with the Dominion, they would figure it out soon enough and modify their ships to be more resistant to Imperial technology.

@Mitchz95 But he hadn't. Mostly because that shot was nearly impossible to make. Also, the rebels were still somewhat familiar with the weapons of the star wars universe. The Federation would have absolutely no idea how to combat their different weapon systems.

@YusufSMahmood No, but they still had the ability. If Red Leader had been focusing more, he could have made the target and killed the Death Star just like Luke did.
