'Wi a Hundred Pipers' (Durham Reel) - free piano transcription

My piano version of this famous Scottish folk song. As with so many British folk songs, this one has a strong and simple harmonic foundation inherent in the melody, and can take considerable colouring by use of unusual accompanying harmonies and figures.

Thank you - I do try, as expression is so important in music. That's why I find much British folk music played by ensembles so disappoinging - everything comes out at the same dyniamic level.

@PSearPianist @PSearPianist Wow.Improvising like that is pretty impressive.I find I can only do that kind of on-the-fly embellishment in a limited number of keys; predictably, the 'easier' ones, C major, F major, etc, with fewer sharps and flats to contend with. Guess I need to play more in the less common keys to extend that improvisation ability. Watching some more of your playing now, thankyou for posting so much good stuff :)
