Better built nowadays? Compared to a pre-1960s Raleigh where everything (and I mean everything except the tyres and inner tubes) was made and quality controlled by Raleigh? Look how many old Raleighs still survive today (my sister's still has all original bearings and works fine). Will bikes made today still be working in 50 years time? I seriously doubt it.

@brotherjupiter I hate it when the NWO does things like that. I've got a suspicion that the NWO has been pilfering beer from my fridge and hiding my slippers. They're tricksy.
Actually, ProCycle still has factories in Saint-Georges de Beauce and in Vancouver. And currently, the average North American worker is at Walmart, sating his hunger for cheap products built by exhausted Chinese labourers.

These are cheap supermarket bikes. Nothing is truly handmade. Machine wheel build, machine weld, not even TIG.
