@acidpi I see the drama Lie to me and i explain the Korean people says your last name then your first in a formal way that is why they say gong ah jung or when you present yourself to people you dont know you say your last name and then your first in english her name is ah jung gong first name and then the last.. by the way if you listen they say something like ah jung ah or so ran ah with the ah in the final is because your closes friends call you by your name and that is a informal way

Hi Professor, great videos! I am currently watching the Korean Drama "Lie To Me" and I've noticed that the characters names are pronounced differently depending on whether it is formal or informal. One of the main characters name is Gong Ah Jung, but her name is pronounced differently depending on who says it. Could you please explain to us how names change their pronunciation? Thanks!
