Using Bluetooth Barcode Scanner Motorola Symbol CS3070 with Android

http://tec-it.com - How to use a bluetooth barcode scanner with Android. In this example a Nexus S and a Motorola Symbol CS3070 bluetooth scanner are used.

The video shows how to scan a barcode with a Bluetooth barcode scanner and a Android handset. The soft-keyboard BluePiano used in the video is available on the Android Market. A wizard supports the setup. First you need to pair the devices. Then finish the setup of BluePiano. Specify the paired barcode scanner and enable the new input method in the Android settings. Now BluePiano works correctly. Whenever a barcode is scanned its value is entered into the edit field.

BluePiano extends all Apps with automated Bluetooth data acquisition. This new input method provides a Bluetooth-enabled soft-keyboard. This virtual keyboard captures data from Bluetooth SPP devices (serial port profile) and forwards the received data to input fields of arbitrary apps. The data appears as entered manually. BluePiano works with all Bluetooth SPP devices (Bluetooth devices supporting the Serial Port Profile, RFCOMM). Special Android-enabled bar code scanners are NOT required. HID devices are not supported.

Hola yo he estado usando uno parecido, pero ns si alguien me podria ayudar porque kiero automatizar ese proceso para cuando se desarrolle una aplicacion utilizando este dispositivo automaticamente se cambie de keyboard sin necesidad d configurar el input method, gracias

i am trying to sync the Dell Streak 7 and it keeps telling me the pairing is being rejected by the CS3070. I hae verified the PIN as 1234. Any ideas?

@lizardelpaso Solution 2. Please make sure to put the scanner into the DISCOVERY modus. To do so press following keys: 1. + key 2. ONLY when you see a GREEN light 3. press the M key until you hear a single beep

@lizardelpaso Regarding to the given information, we can offer 2 solutions:

Solution 1 - Connect the bluetooth scanner with your desktop or notebook using an USB wire and CHECK the scanner SETTINGS. To do so open the file config.ini in the folder parameters. Following parameters are essential: 1. BTPin ... is the Pin to pair the devices 2. BTProfile ... has to be set to SPP

If necessary you can change the settings and save them to adjust the scanner properly.

My galaxy s has same problem with 'skogsfrisk'. the phone reconized the scanned device. "pair with this device" under cs3070 and then I tabbed it "pair and connect" popped up. and then it doesn't respond. pls, help.
