  • @TyroneJson: From what you say about the special sauce on Frish's Fish "Sammitches", I will NEVER EVER eat anything from Frish's that has Tarter Sauce on it. Thank you for the word of warning.

  • Love the Bomb!

  • First guy to use "Rock N Roll" in a song, long before Elvis and others. Used to go see him at the Blue Note. Took a G harp one night and after his set, as I left cut loose some Memphis riffs on that bad boy as i walked to the exit. I remember him yelling "Hey you! Come back here!" I just laughed, waved and went on out the door. God I was a young boy back then....

  • His real name was Buford Jones. He got the name Bone cause he always 'Boned' the wimmen he went out with. He died about 15 years while in prison. He was in there for a lot of dumb stunts he performed including robbing a bank.

  • How bad was your Uncle's name, that you called him Uncle Bone?

  • That was the way they treated us blacks in the 1960s. I remember my Uncle Bone worked as a cook at Frish's down the road from there. They make him come in the back door by the smelly garbage cans, but white workers could come in from the front door. He told me he used to put his own "special" tarter sauce on white people's fish sammitches. He said that was the only way he could get them back.

  • I remember when they dedicated the Ferguson Hills Drive-In to him on a hot Friday night in the mid sixties. There were a lot of people there as he cut the ribbon, then he wanted a cut on the profits and they gave him nothing at all, Later in the papers, the Drive-In Manager claimed it was a hoax as it was named after Ferguson Road so they said they owed him nothing.

  • Good Job Cincinnati Nostalgia. I used to love H-Bomb. I patterned my singing career after him.
