I think people have mis-judged the age of the lady singer here. She was only in her mid-30s when this was filmed. And she is younger than Peter Mattei by a couple of years. I guess maybe she just looks older? I know Zerlina is meant to be very young, but it's difficult to find a young singer who is ready to perform the big opera roles.

A visible difference in ages, but excellent voices, the only fault is the background of the stage, I keep on looking for the pole dancer to appear....

I love Peter Mattei, his voice is so different from all the other baritones I'm used to. his voice is more suave, sophisticated and charming baritone as opposed to the "my voice is dark and sexy, let me dominate you" baritones that frequent roles like this.

@tenor0max Etre vieux, être jeune, tout cela est bien relatif surtout quand la cantatrice n'a qu'à peine quarante ans, possède une voix honnête et joue parfaitement bien. Et n'oublions pas l'air du catalogue : DG les collectionne toutes quelque soit leur âge.

quelle voix de velours, ce peter mattei! et quelle présence! j'ai eu la chance de le voir sur scène lors de toutes les représentations; je bossais au festival d'aix!! un régal! en plus, c'est un homme très gentil!
