I love the sound of a 56k modem in the morning. :)

...and before this I used a 14.4 modem, and then a 28.8
I felt euphoric when I managed a speed of 3.1 Kb/s.
Nowadays I manage a speed of 1Mb+/s, and that's rotten by today's standard...

I'm still trying to forget the trauma of having windows 95, with AOL as my ISP on a 56K modem.... My Mom was always "Get of the computer, I wanna use the phone!!!" and i'd say... "Just 5 minutes..." which turned out to be 30 or more.... AOL was not that bad, they were good to me, I was giving 2 free tickets, no strings attached to Six Flags, just for been a customer... I took my then girlfriend now wife whom by the way, met on a AOL chat room. Months later I moved on to DSL, now Cable...

Nostalgia.... almost gave me a tear listening to this....before realized how modem can piss you off sometimes when you get cut offline, due to someone calling you or some idiot picked up the fone just when you download something "big" as 2mb! :D
