Cardinal Escapes Brush Fire

A short video depicting the rapid escape of a male Cardinal bird from a small fire in the woods.
From the vantage point of the camera it may appear the fire was close to the bird when it was not.
I mean, he's not stupid- you know!
Fire was being brought under control, and didn't really threaten the habitat of the bird (low bushes.)
It was contained mostly on the ground in leaves.
He and his mate have raised four sets of off spring in the years we've had them in the area. We 'tend' to them with feed and keep an eye out for them.
I just happened to be video taping the fire when he popped up to see what was going on. The flames and smoke were between us- then he decided to get the heck out of there!
Cardinal- a cool bird.
