@tlo1621 - that's what's happening here with my tribe, too - there are two schools (1) the dancers should be paid and (2) no, this is should be traditional, given gifts but not paid
-
i wonder what village is that
-
@tlo1621 Kwakwhay for the explanation!
-
@yunqq602thuqq - I so agree with this. There is a time and place for buffalo dances and all social dances. Hopi's bring dancers every where and anytime of the year to get paid. That's why it's always wind now a days back on Hopi. No respect for the Hopi calendar. Hehehe!

@raakone sumi'nangwa is the harvest festival and noquivi is our hominy and beef or sheep stew, main dish at dances and ceremonies.
-
To the best of my knowlege, the Hopi people don't allow their ceremonies to be photographed, or video-taped.
-
Thank you! That was so intersting! I love you, Natives. :-))) Mitakuye Oyasin
-
@rockboy7789 well the Hopi do speak an Uto-Aztecan / Mexica language.

@tlo1621 curious, what's sumi'nanga? And what's noq'quivi?
Makes me homesick!
Someone please send piki quick before I waste away into nothingness...haha.
It's good to see Hopi's represent!
