Brian Kerkvliet of inspiration farm in bellingham, washington, shows off two home scale threshing inventions. One featuring a five gallon plastic bucket, and one made from a wood chipper.

This is very small scale, but it beats the hell out of hitting the stalks with a stick - which is still a popular technique.

Separate the wheat from the chaff on the cheap!

Winnowing is done with a fan.
