This is my response to Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere.
Let me say right here and now that I understand a businessman wanting to make as much money as possible. But IMO, there's a limit to what any business should be willing to do in the name of money. That includes bending the truth and misleading your clientele, (the gaming community)
When the cost of business has developers and publishers taking steps to destroy the retail video game industry as well as collecting, I cannot accept it. When the cost of their greed is for us all to suffer, I will not be quiet.
I will likely get some flack for this video, but I stand by my words 100%.

I'm a Gamer first. I love this industry and what these companies want to do will surely tear the soul away from one of the things I love most in this world.
Their new definition of profit means the unemployment of Thousands upon tens of thousands of people, it means the end of collecting, and it takes away any semblance of ownership you ever had of the games you buy.

Some of you will say it doesn't matter what I say. Nothing is going to change. so before you have the chance, let me respond.
whether I'm heard or not, I'm going to speak my mind. I'm not going to lie down and take it without making my voice heard and if I can sway the opinion of just 1 gamer out there, then My words are not in vain.
When it all falls down, I'll be able to say proudly that I said what I could and at least made the attempt. I'll choose to die fighting every time. I guess you can never take the fight out of a good soldier.

  • Poor little kid has PS3 but cant afford a game?

    Seems legit

  • @Isusovac1995

I see it all the time. Saved up for a PS3/360 or got one for christmas/birthday. wants a new game but mom and dad wont fork up the $. So, they trade in their old games for a new one. happens every few minutes, every day, all over the world.

  • I do have a question though. What's your opinion on OnLive? You can get a digital copy for about PC price or rent them for 3-7 days or even get 120+ games for 10 bucks a month. It's all streamed to your Android, iPad, or PC/MicroConsole and it's most of the latest games. Myself I've been buying new and used games for years, still got my N64 running with about 25-30 games. So what I say is digital/streaming the way to go in renting or even purchasing at cheaper pricing?

  • @Mcdovin1

I'm not really a fan of Nor will I support any service that simultaneously works toward killing off the retail video game industry while at the same time takes away my ability to own a physical copy of the games I've purchased. I'm not saying it's a bad service, I just don't want all games to end up digitally distributed and as long as people jump on board with services like that all they're doing is contributing to that end.

  • While I agree overall with what you're saying Muzz, I have a few things to say. Technically, you're not allowed to do whatever you want with it, because you don't own the game. You own the right to use the game. If you owned the game, there would be no copyright issues with reverse engineering and copy-protect circumvention. When paying for a game, you're paying for the right to use one copy of the game, not to own the game. It says so in the manual you get with it. It's annoying, but true.

  • @mysteryloser24

Nonetheless, selling, trading, loaning, or giving away your games is something that we have all had the ability to do for the last few decades. it has built an industry and stimulated the new video game market. now guys like this are out to take that away from us. not cool.

  • This motherfucker is saying the truth....share this video.

  • As an avid video game collector of over seven hundred -physical- games I thank you for saying what unfortunately isn't being said by many. I hope to continue gaming my whole life but unfortunately the way things are going I don't expect the industry to last for much longer. PC gaming has gone entirely down this road. Just about every physical copy of a computer game bought is now locked to some kind of account. Piracy may be a problem, but the publishers are the biggest one.

  • If used game sales never existed i would have never bought saints row used and bought saints row 2 and saints row 3 new if i hadnt bought oblivion used i would have never enjoyed it and purchased skyrim on day one. Used game sales can help a company but some of these big suits dont see it.

  • Nail'd it

  • I am a big fan, when you get balls deep into your rant it sounds like a rap, i like that keep up the good work. Totally agree with everything you said

  • Hmmmmm? Pay 20$ for a digital copy of Halo 3 and not be physical?

Or 7$ for a used copy at gamestop with a game/case/manual??

Hmmmmm Gamestop, you make a good point here.
