This sample clip from the Overhead Industrial Crane Safety module shows some of the basic safety concerns having to do with sling leg angles. One of the most counter-intuitive things for new crane operators is that the stress on a sling can exceed the weight of the load being carried, if the sling legs are at low angles.

The video introduces industrial workers to how floor-controlled overhead industrial cranes operate and the basic safe operating procedures for working with them or around them. Training covers types of industrial cranes,t he role of rigging and slings, necessary inspections of the crane and the rigging components, Limit switches, sling angle factors, factors affecting load capacity, and factors affecting load stability.
