Hopefully this helps.

To clarify, the only reason you can hear the guitar picking is due to the lower volume and the fact that I am sitting three feet from the amp. Condenser mics are more sensitive than dynamic mics and therefore are more sensitive at lower volumes.

  • Hey mate, great review :)!

    One quick n00b question..

Im thinking about buying the Apogee One for some home recording..

Do you just plug the SM-57 to the ONE, and from the ONE to garage band?

SM-57--->ONE--->GB.. Is it really this simple?

  • @Panzinfantry Yes pretty much. It would be just as easy for an instrument cable into the line in for the 1/4 jack.

  • hey whats the song you play when you play the dual track? :) thanks

  • @BassistInACage It's an original song of mine.

  • Do you have to use a mac for this or can you use the apogee one on a pc

  • @staytrue0407 That's awesome! Im gonna go get one tomorrow then.. Thanks

  • Not nice sound..

  • awesome playing dude!!!

  • @lmeddick Like bass mid and treble all to around 6 ;-) If you can't turn it up loud try turning the resonanse up or down, I find that using the resonance really helps to fine tune your amp to how you want it to sound at different volumes and in different places.

  • @staytrue0407 Sorry but what is the 666 setting? Im new to this head and cab stuff. I also can't crank the post to 2 or 3 because its way too loud for my circumstances at that level. Only with a hotplate could I do that.

  • @lmeddick Try a different cab/speaker. Also, try to set the amp to 666 settings. Most people seem to like those and then crank the post to around 2 or 3. If the amp doesn't sound good, then I would definitely say its the cab/speakers.
