  • @pickledparsleyparty What they don't tell you is that you need to start Safari and type in the the URL by hand. This is what triggers the ad. It simply loads a web page with a video. This is a great example of how to achieve really terrible results but great praise from fellow advertiser friends. Can someone explain to me how is this an iAd?

    Most ads like this work by scanning a QR code to know what video to play.

    There isn't one shown but I don't think its possible without it.

  • This is really impressive. I've been staring at that phone-shaped portion of the ad for a long time and can't figure out what triggers the ad on the phone. The camera would be focused on the upper left corner of the hazy silhouette. And iPhone 4 doesn't support near-field communication, so I don't see how a tag could be embedded in the page. Maybe there's some kind of code that's too small or obscured for human eyes, but identifiable by the iPhone's camera?

    Can anyone talk about this?
