Newly rebuilt rear wheel on my road bike.

Pulled apart my Martix (eBay brand - X-Pace Rim, Novatech hub, DT straight gauge spokes) rear wheel and relaced the rim with new hub and spokes.

New hub: Dura Ace 7850
New Spokes: DT Swiss Competition
Tire: Tufo Composite Carbon

The result...quieter and smoother!

This was following a 25 mile break in ride where the wheel performed better than me!

It's pretty clear that the valve stem (and extender) are the heavy part of the wheel and I need to put a bit of weight on the other side to counter it...

  • Shimano makes the best stuff out there. The d/a and ultegra hubs are as good as anyone elses. Di2 makes the other brands top groups look like amateur hour. :-)

  • so quiet
