My demo for Bishops Corner, presented here in its entirety, is one I'm super excited to share. In a way, the title is a shout out to anyone familiar with West Hartford, but anyone who grew up with a nightly summer hangout as a kid can appreciate and relate to the song. (Listen with headphones for maximum appreciation). Moments in the song I'm most excited about include the guitar solo and the high D I somehow hit again at the song's climax! Lyrics here:
see you there tonight/
same as every night/
grab some curb and drop your bike/
out-survive the retail lights/
be young, as one, we'll get around to life/
we'll get around to life/
No one could save this town from these young terrors/
who from the streets became the standard bearers/
it was a skateboard revolution/
it was a search for retribution/
it was the 90's and times we'd never change/
hey im goin home/
show's a go tonight/
who was last to drive/
i don't know, we'll find a way/
who is playing anyway/
who cares, get in, we're jumping off the stage/
we're jumping off the stage/
No one could save this town from these young terrors/
who from the streets became the standard bearers/
it was a skateboard revolution/
it was a search for retribution/
it was the 90's and times we'd never change/
hey im goin home/
humid air surrounds/
sitting on the ground/
tossing gravel through the fence/
flames of interest fanned by friends/
a girl, a boy, with feelings this intense/
with feelings this intense/
No one could save this town from these young terrors/
who from the streets became the standard bearers/
it was a skateboard revolution/
it was a search for retribution/
it was the 90's and times we'd never change/
hey im goin home/
the curbside verdict is in, we're free
thanks guys! :)
