7 Years after the tragical overdosed death of Layne Staley, ALICE IN CHAINS found with William DuVall a new frontman and started a little Clubtour in good old Germany....

But before they burned down the Columbia Club, Drummer Sean Kinney and Bassplayer Mike Inez invited us one day before to have a talk at the Concorde Hotel...

In Germany...smoking isn´t allowed, nearly everywhere, but these Guys from Seattle doesnt seem to care, just brought their own ashtray, who cares??:-)

In the room next to us,Jerry Cantrell was doing a phoner, suddenly he screamed through the house "for fire"! (Anybody can help me?? I need a lighter!! NOW!!)

They were really relaxed, no arroganz, all the time we talked and the next day, very funny, cool and easy!

I just want to say, that Sean Kinney is the fuckin' best drummer i've ever seen! His style, power and moves.... He doesen't play fast or the best in the world, but his groove, unconvencional feel of beat makes it so amazing. He is my idol for years. Hell yeah for Sean!!

I think they did the band good by picking DuVall. I mean, he's most definitely not Layne Staley, their vocals are different, but the dude can sing, and it's a fresh new sound in a familiar sonic landscape. Besides, he's relatively young, he can get the younger crowds to listen to some good music, from a marketing POV. I love their new album and I can't wait to listen to a new record from these guys. Layne would've been proud.

Sean is great drummer, the best among many more famous and legendary in my opinion, because he gives what's required for the song, that becomes the greatest gift to a band..

It seems like Sean has been so badly affected by Layne's death he has become very serious and barely even cracks a smile. I think it's still playing on his mind.

wow Sean Kinney is alot more serious nowadays. he was always the hyperactive one of the band. his presence in an interview made everyone even layne more jokie with the interviewer, like theres even one where layne get all goofy because sean just showed up, and the ADD is contagious, if you have it and youre around your friends, you will give them temporary ADD.
