For my first video of the new year (on January 1st, no less!), I have chosen a subject rather dear to my heart: "Doctor Who"; in this case, the uncompleted serial "Shada".
Due to union strikes, filming of this serial was delayed in November 1979; new producer John Nathan-Turner considered finishing the serial, but due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, it was left incomplete.
My video here is an attempt to show what might have been; had former producer Graham Williams gotten more shooting done before the strike, and had Nathan-Turner actually finished the serial so as to render it the first of Season 18 -- it would've been a perfect place to start. Imagine: July 19th, 1980, and the first episode of the new season...
The video may end abruptly, but that is where the first gap in the footage occurs; I have stopped it there so as to preserve the illusion that the episode was completed. I have also taken the liberty of adding the Season 18 title sequence (and a line of Season 18 humour) to the episode, as it would have been when completed; the pre-titles sequence would have been a perfect way to segue into the new titles.
So, without further ado, I present to you: "Shada" (Had It Been Completed). Enjoy! :-)
