@andyc382 The breadth & scope of Martin Carthy deserves more recognition, Folk music is loved by so many people but all the hype seems to go to other genre's. I do love all sorts of music and stand by my earlier comment. Anyway thanks for the info, I suppose the M.B.E is a start and I wouldn't think Martin is that concerned,

All these rock stars [so called] getting knighthoods is ridiculous if anyone deserves a gong it is people like Martin, Nic Jones Swarbs & damehoods for Maddy etc. What Martin Carthy has done for English music is absolutely amazing.
