Clave is the most important organizing principle within all Afro-Cuban music. In order for the music to flow, not only must all percussion instruments fit to these patterns but other instuments and voices as well. Traditionally, son clave has been the choice for poular Latin dance music. Be sure to realize the importance of understanding the difference between 2/3 and 3/2 clave and where the two side and three side are in each.

  • is the "repiration" of the 2-3 the same orientation than the3-2 ? (with less resolution ?)

    Thank you for your lights.

  • @cheemooo he doesn't really count that much, you just gotta really feel the rhythm and you'll get it

  • What would be good to mention is to say this is how I count it then give an example of how else to count it then say you can come up with your own way or use any of the methods mentioned.

  • I find it easier to learn any rythem if I dont hear someone counting along with it. All I have to do then is listen carefully and keep repeating till it becomomes natural. I also think that a teacher counting can be a disruption if they count too often because I also sometimes count in a way that works best for me and everyone is diff so if somneone teaches you to count it one way and you need it another it may not work out well.

  • really good exlpanation

  • I thought u play the Tumbao no ?
