Nothing compares to Raul doing older big band ballads. Back when the Mavs were first hitting he would get together with an orchestra and play shows at the Blue Bird or the Ace of Clubs here in Nashville. There are no words to even describe the electricity created during these shows. The smaller intimate audiences would be entranced. Fixed on the beauty of his voice, the glimmer in his eye and the pure delight in his smile.

Jerry Garcia was giving an interview in 1980/90 something and his roadie/JGB tour manager were there too. His name is Steve Parrish. The interviewer asked Jerry what his favorite song of all time. He said, "Stardust, without question." His roadie/tour manager had no idea but when Jerry gave his answer, his roadie informed him that his uncle, along with Hoagie Carmichael, wrote the song. Serendipity and the Grateful Dead go hand in hand.

One of best tunes ever conceived by mankind, on a very short list of marooned on a deserted island songs to have at beckoned call! Also, it was my late mama's all time fave, so naturally I am slightly biased! Also, I am certain she would more than approve of Raul's version, I know I did! Thanks to friendofraul for the upload, thanks as always to You Tube for the ever accomodating available space, & somwhere, be rest asured, my late mama is smiling!
