The Witcher Gameplay: ACT 1 finale

The scene: There's an angry mob being led by a fanatical revered outside where Abigail, the witch they're after, hides. They blame her for 'the beast', a hellhound that's been terrorizing the area. You have the option of either siding with or against her. Not as clear a choice as you'd think since she's hardly a saint, selling poisons and potentially dabbling in dark magic herself... on the other hand does give this angry mob who themselves are guilty of many crimes the right to murder her brutally? Up to you to choose, I obviously chose to help her for this clip!

Although The Witcher starts out a bit rough around the edges and it certainly has its flaws, I gotta say, I'm really enjoying it. Probably the scene that shifted this game from 'pretty fun' to 'awesome' was the end of ACT 1, which I'm uploading a clip from for those that want to watch it again or see this possible outcome, as well as in the hopes a couple people might go and buy a copy of The Witcher after seeing it.

Fairly minor spoilers really, one of the possible outcomes of ACT 1, not showing the boss fight or the part right after... don't want to give away too much after all! This is still early in the game.

Playing on Medium difficulty and recorded using FRAPS. Enjoy!

Lice being the parasites (insects) that are most known for living in peoples hair and making everything itchy.

I've upgraded my computer since recording this gameplay. When I recorded this I believe I was using an Nvidia 7800 and had 1 gig of RAM, I forget the other details unfortunately. The game ran quite well then, runs perfectly on my newer rig. Shouldn't have any trouble with The Witcher on any fairly recent gaming PC.

I just got the the beast...it's a toughie,for me anyways. I've been playing with the Polish voices and it sounds MUUUUCH better. o_o The reverend sounds much younger than he actually looks with the English voices.

That's what I've heard, unfortunately I don't speak polish and my french is hardly up to the task, so I'm stuck with plain ol' english. Ah well!

The voice acting ain't bad in the english version. Few bits here and there that made me wince, but for the most part it was decent. Much better english voice acting than most other euro rpg's I've played anyway, for example: Divine Divinity; Great game, terrible name, even worse english voice acting! Eug!

The Enhanced Edition really fixed up the English voices. I would consider it premium voice acting, now.
