June 26 1983, St. Paul Minnesota, Sheik Adnan El Kassey purchases the contract of Ken Patera from Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and then teams him up with Jerry "Crusher" Blackwell to defeat The High Flyers, Greg Gagne and Jumpin' Jim Brunzell, for The AWA World Tag Team Titles.

  • WIth all that money, you think Patera could just buy his way into McDonalds rather than throw a boulder through the window.

  • Of course Brunzell was going to be the one pinned. Plus, I don't think Greg Gagne ever lost a title cleanly in the AWA.

  • Wwe today sucks

  • @JonathanVonErich - Imagine being at those matches with their great intensity & energy. Every week we had all this and more from every wrestling association that existed. No, we don't have this any more & that is very sad for today's generation of wrestling fans. Today I watched WWE's TLC show. While it had some fun, it was puny compared to those old weekly shows. Not even close.

  • @1400deadwood Lol Seems to me I read that kind of comment on EVERY old school wrestling videos on Youtube, how much people miss these days. haha I agree with you and everybody.

  • What an excellent segment ~ how I miss those great days of pro wrestling.

  • My friend Meatball Robinson use to wrestle Jerry Blackwell in Mid-Atlantic Wrestling.

  • And Sheik Adnan El Kaissey would go on to rename Patera "Lawrence Of Arabia!"

  • Great to see this whole angle as this was a very big storyline in the AWA at the time.

  • No, sadly they did not. Video tape was still pretty new & expensive during this time so Verne Gagne , as a cost saving measure usually only taped a few highlights from matches.

  • Awesome.
