Elvis Presley Ask Me
Ask Me was the Italian song Io written by Domenico Modugno. The English lyrics were written by Bill Giant, Bernie Baum, and Florence Kaye. Elvis first recorded this song on May 27, 1963 at RCAs Nashville studios but that version was not released as the single. The released version was recorded on January 12, 1964 at the same studio and it reached #12 on Billboards Hot 100 chart during its 12-week stay. Floyd Cramer is playing the organ. It was the B-side to Aint That Loving You, Baby. It is available on Elvis Gold Records, Vol. 4, Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Vol. 2, The Lost Album, and From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential 60s Masters.

Ask me if I wanted to caress you
And I'll confess
Ask me if I'm longing to possess you
I'll answer yes

Now that we're together
I could hold you close forever
And I swear that I would never let you go

There's no question that I care more than you
Love me darling, just be mine completely
And there's nothing I won't do if you
Just ask me

Now that we're together
I could hold you close forever
And I swear that I would never let you go

There's no question that I care more than you
Love me darling, just be mine completely
And there's nothing I won't do if you
Just ask me

Just ask me

  • Love this song. One of his best. Great song

  • is a real shame that the King never came to Italy ...

    Elvis 4ever!!!

  • è un vero peccato che il re non sia mai venuto in Italia...

    Elvis 4ever!!!

  • i bet he was in love when he recorded it

    it feels like it

  • This really should be as well known as Volare, really should. Another lost Elvis classic. I still don't think most people realise just how great Elvis was. There must be a couple of hundred hidden gems in his back catalogue. A Little Less Conversation proved it. Any nominations for Elvis' greatest hidden gem? Try 'Is It So Strange' for starters.

  • amazing!!!

  • Love it, love it love it. x

  • What a beautiful song. I had almost forgotten that Elvis recorded this song. I don't remember if it was sung on one of his movies or not, but I can remember hearing it alot at my house, because everyone in my family loved Elvis.

  • Easily one of my favorite Elvis songs.

  • Domenico Modugno also wrote the more famous worldwide hit 'Volare'.

Great singer and writer, nice to see Elvis recorded one of his (beautifully, as usual).
