This is a 12-inch pot Amish, which is a ZEPP Music exclusive, being essentially a simplified Standard. This particular banjo can be seen at http://zeppmusic.com/Ramsey/Amish/mram.htm
This is yet another for the now-at-35-banjos-and-counting comparison series on our website!

  • hey zepp What tuning are you using could you tell me the string names?

  • @banjobubby

This is what is called "Sawmill" or "Mountain Minor" tuning. Without a capo it's gDGCD, so with the capo it's aEADE. The resulting Am tuning is where most fiddlers play this and other tunes in this mode.
