DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) — Political endorsements rarely translate into votes, but sometimes the timing of one can carry great significance.

That's what Sen. Barack Obama's campaigners hope for as they pick up the backing of Oprah Winfrey less than one month from the Iowa caucuses.

The three-state "Oprah-bama" tour starts at a Des Moines, Iowa, rally Saturday in a space that can accommodate thousands. It then moves east to Cedar Rapids for an event expected to bring in close to 8,500 people.

OMFG I get it more and more about America. We got racists as well, here in Europe. But what i here on this page and on Television and the newspapers. That so many Americans just dont vote obama because he's black. Well that makes me sad. And i see, that America isn't that futuristic in thinking at all. It's not about the colour of someones skin. Oprah never said that she was supporting Obama because he is African-American. That's what you said. That's what you believe. Apparently, all YOU see is race. Oprah did not support Al Sharpton when he ran for Prez. And she didn't side with Jesse Jackson in 1986 in Forsythe Cty, GA, when Jackson insisted on getting on her show to confront white supremacists? So, stop being so narrow-minded. Blacks can support blacks just based on qualifications.

The only reason Obama Is in this race is because of Oprah Winfrey. I am not a racist , I just dont feel that Oprah should be fiddling with politics at all , She is a good activist and humanitarian and everybody loves her for that I do as well , but propping up a Presidential runner because she would love to see an African American in office , is not the right thing to do.
