  • Isn't it a 583 Rotax? Or is that only the newer models?

  • This plane has a 582 Rotax,,water cooled and 65 hp rated, The engine has been optional for the past few years. I would think that most carry the 503 air cooled engine rated at 52 hp. Cost being the main deciding factor possibly. Along with how often you fly two up and at max load. I run the 503 and fly solo because weight is at the lower end of the spectrum. Cruise at around 70 mph at 5400 rpm.

  • nothing happens until 2:30

  • @Mushenzi The aileron is inboard from the fiberglass wingtip and the branches were not that thick. I would have been more concerned with scratching the paint on my new plane. If you notice, Mike used the flaperon crank to move the ailerons, in effect, doing a control check. Had there been a problem there would have been resistance to turning the crank. His friend was also observing the aileron movement so I don't feel anything unsafe occured prior to taking off. Do trim the tree though

  • Mike,

You are a frigging amateur and you're begging to get killed! Trees and wings don't mix. You didn't even do a control check after dragging that wing. Not smart pal!

  • does that nose gear colapse often?
